There’s nothing that can prepare you for stepping off the lift at Alpe di Siusi for the first time. At the base, the lift operators gave us a mix of surprise and “heck yeah” looks as we rolled in with our Onewheels. Then, in just ten minutes, we were carried above the storybook town of Ortisei, out of the valley, and onto a high alpine plateau.
Looking up at jagged limestone peaks towering overhead and then down at your feet to see a Onewheel—that was the pinch-yourself moment. Holy crap. We’re riding Onewheel here.
This was exactly what we set out to create with the first-ever Onewheel Dream Destination trip. Every sport has its bucket-list adventure—Baldface Lodge for snowboarding, a boat trip to the Mentawais for surfing. For Onewheelers, we wanted to design that pinnacle experience, the one you’ll tell stories about for the rest of your life.

And so, the Dolomites. One of the most dramatic mountain ranges on the planet, laced with gondolas and trails that connect village to village. A playground of alpine meadows, ridgelines, and forests, all waiting to be explored.
We got serious. We recruited Martim and Jacopo—two incredible riders from the Italian Onewheel community—as our local guides and built out a five-day dream itinerary.
The trip began at Masterdrone Verona, the local Onewheel retailer, where the group gathered and picked up boards. From there, a private shuttle carried us two hours into the mountains, past rolling vineyards and picturesque countryside, before arriving in Ortisei. Our home base was the Boutique Hotel Planlim—a cozy spot with a spa waiting to recharge us after big days.
That first ride set the tone. We took the flowy path down from the gondola into a lush high plateau. Cowbells echoed through high alpine meadows. Apple strudel and cappuccinos greeted us at mountaintop rifugios, where e-bike charging stations doubled as Onewheel charging stops. Between photos with the local cows and sweeping views that looked more like paintings than reality, the day felt surreal.

The locals were just as stoked as we were. Most had never seen a Onewheel before, so we got plenty of questions: “What is it?” “How does it work?” “Is it easy to learn?” A few adventurous souls even got impromptu demos.
Instead of taking the shuttle back that evening, the group opted to ride the scenic bike path down the valley into Ortisei, where we dug into canederli and pizza. After dinner, the rooftop hot tub, sauna, and steam room at the hotel worked their magic.
The subsequent days followed a blissful rhythm: wake up to an incredible breakfast, ride mind-blowing terrain with pro riders Tyler and Bodhi plus our local guides Martim and PJ, eat ridiculously good food, and cap it all off at the spa. Hard to beat.
But, as always, the best part was the people. Fourteen riders from around the world came together and, in just a few days, formed an incredible sense of camaraderie. Traveling somewhere new with people who share your passion has a funny way of turning strangers into friends.
The Dolomites trip was unforgettable—and just the beginning. We can’t wait to share more Onewheel Dream Destination adventures in the future. Stay tuned on our social channels and subscribe to the Onewheel newsletter to be the first to know what's next.
