What is the difference between Onewheel+ XR and Onewheel Pint?

Onewheel+XR and Onewheel Pint are both incredible in their own ways, but have some key differences to suit different riders. Pint is pure joy. It’s smaller, lighter, and a bit easier to take with you for life on-the-go. It has a zippy, playful, and responsive ride feel which pairs well with coffee runs, driveway shenanigans, and momentary escapes from reality. It’s got a top speed of 16mph and gets about 8 miles per charge. At $950, Pint offers an incredible riding experience at an unbeatable value.

Onewheel+XR is the flagship product and the world’s ultimate shredding machine. With a top speed of 19mph and up to 18 miles per charge, XR is built for big adventures and long commutes. With a slightly bigger tire, XR offers a more plush riding experience and a little more power which makes it the clear choice for off-road riding. Onewheel+XR represents the pinnacle of riding technology, refuses to compromise, and checks in at $1,799.

Both are built to take a beating in our factory located in San Jose, California and offer a year-long warranty. A full comparison of the boards can be found here. Either way, life will get more awesome.

Do I need to charge my Onewheel out of the box?

Your Onewheel will arrive to you at a partial charge. We do recommend fully charging the board before you begin your first ride.

Will Onewheel Chargers work in my country?

Yes. Onewheel Chargers are multi-voltage and will work in any country. For non-US outlets an adapter may be needed.

What shoes are best for riding Onewheels?

We recommend firm skate shoes with flat bottoms and good protection. Avoid sandals and shoes with very soft foam soles such as cushioned athletic shoes or shoes designed to have memory foam soles.

What’s the minimum age to ride Onewheel?

Onewheels are recommended for riders 14 years of age and older. Lighter riders may struggle to engage the board, so we recommend trying a board to make sure your child can ride safely.  We have retailers all over the world and many of them offer Onewheel demos. You can find them using our Store Locator

What's the maximum age to ride Onewheel?

There is none! We have riders of all ages and it is never too late to start riding a Onewheel. Don't believe us? Check out 86 year old, Shreddin Eddie.

What is the weight limit for Onewheels?

We have a suggested rider weight limit of 275lb (~125kg) on Onewheel+XR and 250lb (~114kg) on Onewheel Pint. Heavier riders may notice decreased range and hill climbing capability.

Can Onewheels go up hills?

Absolutely. Both Onewheel+XR and Onewheel Pint have no problems climbing hills up to 15% grade. Plus, they have regenerative braking so you can recharge on the way down.

What is Regenerative Braking?

Onewheels have Regenerative Braking which gives your Onewheel battery extra juice while you brake/slow down, especially going down hill. We recommend riders that live on top of hills to toggle on the Charging State Warning to notify them when their board gets to a 90% charge. This can prevent the board from overcharging (charging past 100% due to regenerative breaking) when traveling downhill on a full charge.

Can Onewheels go off-road?

Yes, Onewheels can go off-road and can tackle almost any terrain. Dirt, sand, grass, gravel, you name it. If you’re serious about riding off-road, Onewheel+ XR is the king of shredding trails, but Pint isn’t afraid of the challenge either. Don’t believe us? Check this out.

Are Onewheels safe?

Yes, Onewheel is safe to ride and tens of thousands of riders enjoy riding Onewheel safely everyday. Like any boardsport, there are inherent risks to riding, but if you learn the basics, stay within your limits, and take time to practice you can enjoy Onewheel’s amazing riding experience with confidence every time you step on your board. Onewheel doesn’t have to be an adrenaline sport, in fact, it’s probably the easiest boardsport in the world. With a large air filled tire, Onewheel can ride over bumps and cracks in pavement easily. It’s important for riders to always wear a helmet while riding and respect the board's limits and Pushback safety feature.

What are Digital Shaping Modes?

Digital Shaping modes allow you to customize your board’s ride feel through the Onewheel App. You can adjust top speed, responsiveness, and handling to best suit your riding level and environment. Onewheel+ XR and Pint both offer a selection of pre-set Digital Shaping modes. Onewheel+ XR also offers Custom Shaping, allowing riders to toggle sliders controlling Carvability, Stance Profile, and Aggressiveness to create their own Shaping mode. Digital Shaping modes for Onewheel+ XR are: Sequoia, Cruz, Mission, Elevated, Delirium, and Custom Shaping. Onewheel Pint Digital Shaping modes include: Redwood, Pacific, Elevated, and Skyline.

How do I dismount from a Onewheel?

All Onewheels will dismount by slowing to a stop and removing your foot from one side of the rider detect area (front footpad). For more on best tips and techniques on dismounting check this video out. Onewheel Pint comes equipped with Simplestop which allows riders to stop by simply leaning backward slowly and allowing the tail to gradually drop. We also recommend riders learn to jump off with both feet in case they’re ever off-balanced. Nothing wrong with this, but always remove both feet at the same time. The motor will remain on if you keep your front foot on the rider detect area.

How do I ride my Onewheel like the people in your videos?

Practice! Riders are taking Onewheel to places we’ve never imagined, but all of that takes practice. For most riders, getting the basics only takes a few rides. From there, it’s a matter of putting in the time to ride more aggressively and becoming comfortable in different riding locations and conditions. Practice makes perfect!

How do I clean my Onewheel?

You can keep your board sparkly clean! We recommend using a damp cloth to wipe down your rails and tire and a Grip Tape Eraser for your footpads. You’d also be amazed at what a fresh set of Footpads will do to freshen up your board.

You can also protect your board with some rail guards for Onewheel+ XR or Pint.

How do I register my Onewheel?

Please register your board here!

How fast do Onewheels go?

Onewheel Pint can go up to 16 mph and Onewheel+ XR can go up to 19 mph, but top speed will vary depending on rider weight, Digital Shaping mode, terrain, slope, tire pressure, etc. You can max out the power of the board at lower speeds depending on all of these factors so make sure to respect your board’s Pushback warning. Pushback will tell you when you are reaching the board’s limits. When you start to feel Pushback, you need to lean back and slow down.

What are the top speeds for each Digital Shaping Mode?

The top speed of your Onewheel depends on many factors. Such as, rider weight, Digital Shaping mode, terrain, slope, tire pressure, etc. You can max out the power of the board at lower speeds depending on all of these factors so make sure to respect your board’s Pushbback warning.

Still, top speed also varies according to the board model and it’s selected Digital Shaping mode. On Onewheel+ XR, Sequoia has a top speed of 12 mph, Cruz a top speed of 15 mph, while Elevated, Mission, Delirium, and Custom Shaping all have a top speed of 19mph.

On Onewheel Pint, Redwood has a top speed of 12 mph, while Pacific, Elevated, and Skyline all have a top speed of 16 mph.

What is Pushback?

Pushback is a safety feature that lets the rider know they have reached the limits of the board and that they need to lean back and slow down. During Pushback, the nose of the board will lift gradually, signaling the rider to shift their weight back to slow down. It is absolutely critical to rider safety that Pushback is always respected. Pushback is not an arbitrary speed limit that we have decided upon to hold you back. It defines the actual limit that the board can safely go based on a number of parameters including tire pressure, rider weight, terrain, speed, charge levels, etc. If riders choose to ignore the Pushback warning and continue to lean forward, they can get seriously injured. If you'd like to watch tutorial videos, including one on Pushback, check out this link here.

You will also experience a Pushback warning when your Onewheel is running out of battery or in an overcharge situation (your board is charged to 100% and you go down hill, overcharging the battery). In these instances, it’s important to lean back to slow down to a stop and then dismount the board.

What forms of payment are accepted to buy a Onewheel?

We accept all major credit cards as a method of payment as well as Shop Pay, PayPal, Google Pay, and financing with Klarna for residents in the US.

Can I set up a payment plan?

Yes! Just select Klarna at checkout. Klarna gives riders the option to finance their Onewheel. Currently Klarna is only available for US orders only. Monthly financing through Klarna issued by WebBank, member FDIC.

Can I get 0% financing on a Onewheel?

0% financing is available for those who qualify. Just select Klarna at checkout to see if you do!

Why was I denied Klarna financing for my Onewheel?

Financing is controlled by a credit check that Klarna performs and is confidential between you and Klarna. If there are any difficulties securing financing it may be worth calling Klarna a call and seeing if it can be solved at 1(844) 552-7621 Klarna is a lender and will be financing the order amount very much like a credit card or any line of credit.Any questions about financing your purchase needs to be directed to Klarna. Once qualified they will be the ones receiving your payment, not Future Motion.

No, your Onewheel and your additional accessories will be shipped separately. For any questions on accessory installation, please refer to the included installation instructions or one of the many tutorials on the Onewheel YouTube channel.

Can I fly with my Onewheel?

Currently, airlines are extremely cautious when it comes to battery-powered devices for both carry-on or checked baggage and the answer varies based on your board model. We recommend contacting your airline and airport directly before traveling with  Onewheel Pint. Due to the battery size of Onewheel+ XR, you would not be able to fly with it on commercial airlines. That's why we generally ground ship our boards through FedEx in travel situations!

Are Onewheels waterproof?

No. Onewheels are water-resistant, not waterproof. They can withstand some moisture, but we recommend taking extra caution when riding in or near water and drying your board completely before charging to avoid damage.

Can I Onewheel in the cold?

Yes, but be aware that riding in colder temperatures can affect the performance of the board. One key thing is to make sure the board is always being stored inside a temperature controlled environment, not left in uninsulated areas for extreme heat or cold. Keeping your board in the cold can cause damage to your tire, motor, and battery. You may receive an error message if your battery level is too cold or runs out of power prematurely. In that case, you’ll need to bring it back inside.

Can I ride my Onewheel in snow?

Be very careful when riding on ice or snow, it can be slippery. Also be aware that riding in colder temperatures can affect the performance of the board. Keeping your board in the cold can cause damage to your tire, motor, and battery. You may receive an error message if your battery level is too cold or runs out of power prematurely. In that case, you’ll need to bring it back inside.

Also keep in mind that when snow melts, it becomes water. Electronics and water aren't good friends.

Can I ride Onewheel on the beach?

Off-road is where the Onewheel thrives. Our engineers work incredibly hard to prepare the Onewheel to tackle all terrain, but it is important to keep in mind that your board is ultimately still an electronic device and water-resistant, not waterproof. Details on the warranty policy coverage regarding variable terrain and water can be found here

Can I ride Onewheel on any terrain?

Onewheels are built like tanks. They have a direct-drive hub motor that has no moving parts so you can ride over any terrain without much fear of damaging your board. All Onewheels are water resistant and can withstand some moisture. We recommend taking extra caution when riding in or near water and drying off your Onewheel completely before charging to avoid damage.

How should I store my Onewheel when I’m not using it?

For long term Onewheel storage, make sure to charge your Onewheel between 30-50%. Store it in a dry place in a temperature controlled environment. Check monthly to ensure your battery remains between 30-50%.

Can I modify my Onewheel?

We understand the desire to personalize your board, and we are always amazed by the amazing things our riders create. This said, we do not recommend altering the Onewheel’s internal components or structure. It is ultimately up to you how you’d like to use the board, but it is important to note that many times modifications can result in damage to the board and will void the board's warranty policy and could lead to the board being ineligible for any form of service or repair. Any rider who wishes to personalize and customize their ride needs to be aware of the possible consequences of modifying the board.

Why is my Onewheel+ XR’s power button LED blinking?
The pulsing blue light on the power button on a Onewheel+ XR  is an indicator of battery level. The more “on” the pulsing is, the more charged your Onewheel+ XR is. If the LED is mainly off with brief pulses of “on”, then your Onewheel is low on charge. Alternatively you can also download the Onehwheel App for the exact charge of your board. When your board is low on charge you will want to turn your board off and charge it.

If the power light is blinking and not pulsing, your board is relaying an error message and indicating an issue that may require you to contact Customer Support. You can refer to page 45 of the XR Owner’s Manual for a list of error messages and their meaning. If your board is blinking an error message, we recommend connecting to the board with the Onewheel app where it will give you an error and instructions with how to deal with it.

Tip: Make sure your Onewheel is placed on the ground when you power it on and that there is nothing putting pressure on the front footpad – these are some of the most common occurrences that will trigger an error message other than running out of battery.

Why is my Onewheel Pint’s Lightbar blinking yellow/red?

If the Lightbar on your Pint is blinking yellow or red, your board is relaying an error message. A blinking yellow Lightbar indicates a minor issue that may be fixed by charging or switching your board off and on again. A blinking red Lightbar indicates an issue that may require you to contact Customer Support. You can refer to page 59 of the Pint Owner’s Manual for a list of error messages and their meaning.

Tip: Make sure your Onewheel is placed on the ground when you power it on and that there is nothing putting pressure on the front footpad – these are some of the most common occurrences that will trigger an error message other than running out of battery.

Why isn’t my Onewheel engaging?

  1. Is your Onewheel switched on using the power switch on the side? If it is, the power button LED or Lightbar will be illuminated.
  2. Is the power button LED on your XR or Lightbar on your Pint blinking? If the power button LED on your Onewheel+ XR is blinking or the Lightbar on your Onewheel Pint is yellow or red, it is indicating an error. Consult the user manual for an explanation of the blink code and how to solve it. You can also connect to the Onewheel App to see any error codes displayed on your phone. Remember: Onewheels must be switched on when sitting on the ground and you must not touch the rider detect area when powering on. The board will not engage if any errors are present.
  3. Is your foot fully on the front footpad? Make sure to have a proper stance because your foot must be touching both halves of the front footpad for your Onewheel to engage. Some soft-soled footwear or lightweight riders may not properly engage the footpad and need to try different shoes or stances to make sure they are putting enough weight on the foot pad
  4. Is your battery charged? When you have a low battery, your Onewheel will not begin balancing. Please recharge your board.
  5. Have you come up to level in a slow and controlled fashion? The board’s balancing algorithms do not engage until you’ve come up to a level orientation. Coming up too quickly can also prevent your Onewheel from engaging properly.

Why is my Onewheel making a weird noise?

This could indicate anything from rocks in the fender to a needed repair, so in order for us to correctly diagnose your issue, it would be helpful if you could provide us with a short 10-15 sec video of the noise your board is making. To make sure it is not something obstructed in the fender, we recommend taking that video without any fenders or additional accessories installed. Please submit a Customer Support ticket with a video and your board's serial number to proceed.

The lights on my Onewheel aren’t turning on?

One thing to double check is the light toggle in the Onewheel App. If you go to the main board page when the board is connected, you should see a small sun icon in the top right corner.  Be sure it is toggled on. If the issue continues, please submit a Customer Support ticket with a video showing the board powering on but the LEDs not working and your board's serial number to proceed.

Can I overcharge my Onewheel?

You can leave your board plugged in without issue. In fact, it is healthy for the battery to be left on for an extended period of time (overnight, etc.) every couple of weeks to balance the battery’s charge. We do not recommend leaving your board on a charger indefinitely and shouldn’ leave it connected for more than 1-2 days.

How much are international taxes and duties for my Onewheel?

International taxes and duties are not included in the price and vary significantly by country so we are unable to specify what the exact total will be for each order. This is not something specific to Onewheels but applies to all imported products. We recommend checking with a customs broker local to your country of import to get a specific estimate of what duties and taxes would apply to your purchase.

We are currently seeking existing brick and mortar storefronts that are able to carry our products. If you are interested, please apply to become a Certified Onewheel Dealer here. Our Sales Team will review your application and will contact you if they need additional information or your application is accepted.

What is the Onewheel App?

  2. Toggle on Bluetooth in your phone/smart device settings.
  3. Open the Onewheel App.
  4. Hold your phone/smart device near the Onewheel.

  6. Click your board’s serial number on the app and you should be all set!

Note: Do not try to connect via the Bluetooth settings on your phone, rather, do so through the Onewheel app itself. A Onewheel can only be paired to one smart device at a time. If you wish to connect to s different

Do Onewheels need regular maintenance?

Nope! They’re built like tanks. Still, if you ever need a repair or tune-up feel free to reach out to Customer Support or purchase a tune-up/service package here

When should I service my Onewheel?

There is no set time in which you should service your Onewheel and will vary depending on how much you ride, the terrain you ride in, and how hard you ride. If you ever require a service, check out our service/tune-up options here, or if it is more involved, reach out to Customer Support. We do not have any service centers out in the wild yet, but you can simply send it in for quick and reliable service!

What’s the best PSI for my Onewheel?

20 PSI is best for the overall range, function, and life of your Onewheel and tire. Some riders like to slightly deflate the tire for their off-road adventures. Still, we recommend re-inflating it again for street rides. This will prolong the life of the tire and deliver the most range overall.

What size tire does Onewheel use?

Onewheel+ XR: 11.5” × 6.5”

Onewheel Pint: 10.5” x 6”

How do I change my Onewheel tire?

Onewheels are sophisticated machines and changing your own tire is not recommended. If this process isn’t done exactly to spec, it can compromise the board and be dangerous to the rider. The good news is that our technicians will do it for you! Check out our service/tune-up options here to get your tire change started in-house.

How do I send in my Onewheel Diagnostics?

Connect to the app with your Onewheel on and go to the "My Boards" page. Once connected, go into the "My Boards" page. Once connected, click on the gear icon to access the board’s stats. When you scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see a banner reading "SEND DIAGNOSTICS". Please tap the banner and it will give you an option to comment on the diagnostics. Follow up by submitting a ticket with Customer Support to let them know that you submitted diagnostics for review with your full name and email address. Please note that just sending diagnostics will not be met with a reply, you must have open a ticket with customer support to evaluate a diagnostic.

My Onewheel says it was delivered, but I can’t find it?

Do Onewheels require a signature upon delivery?
